 The use of CCTV has become a normal part of life. From preventing  shoplifting and break-ins at business premises, to traffic cameras used  for prosecuting driving offenses. CCTV cameras are becoming more and  more ommon-place. 

 The way that having surveillance cameras is able to prevent and reduce crime is because of one or more of the following reasons:

Deterrence  – potential burglars and thieves will see the camera and decide that  the business in question is not worth the risk and therefore not a good  target.

Prosecution – thieves and criminals can be caught on camera and this can help catch and prosecute them.
